EmpowHer Grant

EmpowHer grants support impact-focused female founders who need early-stage business capital, a network of business advisors, or both. For grant purposes, the age of a business is determined by the date of state registration or incorporation. Social impact is fundamental to grantee businesses, whether as a part of their business model or as the ‘why’ behind the business product. Grantees have access to the Advisory Circle – financial, marketing, leadership, and sector professionals who can advise on business focus, next steps, and longer-range planning.

Eligible applicants include female entrepreneurs 22 years of age and older with businesses registered and operating solely in the United States. An applicant’s business must make a social impact through its product or business model, be earning revenue, and not be more than five years old. To be awarded grant funding, applicants must be prepared to self-report a credit score and agree to a third-party background check.

Amber Grant Foundation

WomensNet founded the “Amber Grant” in 1998. The grant was set up with one goal in mind: to honor the memory of a very special young woman, Amber Wigdahl, who died at just 19 years old — before realizing her business dreams.

Today, WomensNet carries on that tradition, proudly giving away at least $30,000 every month in Amber Grant money. In recognition of the diversity of businesses owned by women, they’ve also expanded their grant-giving to include “Startup Grants,” “Business Category Grants,” as well as three “$50,000 Year End Grants.”

Applying is simple. Just take a few minutes to tell them about yourself and your business dream. No long, complicated forms to fill out. Submitting one application makes you instantly eligible for all grants related to your business. They announce the grant winners by the 21st of the following month.
